The focus will be on sustainability, solutions for the metropoles of the future and energy security.

TÜV NORD Main Stand - Hall 27 (G 40)
Themes: Smart Grids, power plants, wind energy, supply networks, renewable energies, Partner Country China, Recruiting.
TÜV NORD is helping to face the challenges of the energy systems of the future in the fields of energy conversion, storage, transport and network management. At its main stand in hall 27 (Stand G40), TN Group will be informing visitors of the current state of technology regarding smart grids, wind energy, power plants, supply networks and further renewable energies such as photovoltaics and biomass. Advice and support are available to industrial companies regarding the optimisation of their energy systems; visiting companies can find out about certification of sustainability concepts and all the TN services regarding planning, inspection and certification of all types of energy generating plants.
China, the Partner Country of this year’s Hannover Messe Industrie, is placing the main emphasis on intelligent sustainability solutions. TÜV NORD has been active within the Chinese market for two decades and is presenting the state of technology for safety testing and certifications in Hall 27, including for environmental technologies and management systems.
TÜV NORD subsidiary TÜViT is one of the leading data security companies for smart meter applications. TÜV NORD has developed into one of the leading providers of inspection services for biomass and wind energy. Many onshore turbines are situated in our core area of Northern Germany. TÜV NORD continues to be the German market leader in technical services for power plant and gas storage equipment.
The TÜV NORD Personnel Development Department will be at the stand, providing information about work and work opportunities at TN Group: there are vacancies for students and graduates from the following disciplines: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, vehicle and process engineering, mechatronics, construction engineering, mining, information technology, (geo) physics, natural sciences and industrial engineering.
Metropolitan Solutions - Hall 26 (Stand C11)
Themes include: Traffic Infrastructure, Buildings Infrastructure, Water and Disposals
Mobility, energy security, noise protection, energy efficiency in buildings – for years now, TÜV NORD Group has been working in areas where the future of metropoles will be decided. For the Hannover Messe 2012, TÜV NORD has bundled its know-how into three main areas under the heading of “Metropolitan Solutions”:
Traffic infrastructure:
- Services for support of rail infrastructure companies, train operators and the railway industry as a whole in order to achieve environmentally-friendly, safe and efficient mobility infrastructures in the rail sector
- Reports on existing or future air pollution and also light pollution and noise emissions
- Investigations for planning and management of traffic flows and also for environmental friendliness and compatibility with flora-fauna habitat.
Water and waste disposal:
- Analyses and evaluations of water samples
- Training on the subject of drinking water hygiene
- Certificates for flood protection and support in approval management for the planning of new plant and equipment
- Examination of waste materials (e.g. building rubble, slag, soil) with regard to the most cost-effective method of recycling or disposal and investigation of the waste and hazardous substance situation and also landfill gas analyses.
Building infrastructure:
- Quality controlling and expert construction and building reports
- Integrative energy advice
- Energy supply concepts
- Town and country planning
- Support in town planning and environmental matters within the framework of environment reports and green structures planning. Also examination of escape, rescue and fire service access routes and also evacuation concepts.
MobiliTec – Hall 25 (Stand K22) and MobiliTec open air exhibition area
Subjects include: Alternative drive and traction systems, electromobility: homologation, functional safety, battery safety, range. There is also the opportunity to try out e-mobility in practice on a test track supported by TÜV NORD (9000 m²).
In China, and also in Europe, the development of electromobility is one of the main themes of the automotive and automotive supply industry. TÜV NORD supports the aim of putting attractive and safe vehicles with alternative drive concepts on the roads as soon as possible. With our own electric vehicles, a test laboratory and a solar charging station, we work with our partners to achieve ongoing improvements in safety requirements and improved driving range. We are present at MobiliTec with talks and lectures and a stand featuring themes such as homologation, charging technology, certification and education and training. Our subsidiary, adapt engineering, is exhibiting a prizewinning internal combustion engine which converts hydrogen from renewable energies into mechanical energy. And visitors can discover the performance of today’s electric vehicles for themselves on a TÜV NORD Mobilität test track.
Forum Smart Grids - Halle 13
Theme: IT security in energy networks.
Experts from TÜV NORD subsidiary TÜViT are at the ready when it comes to IT security for electromobility and energy networks. Smart grids for power transfer and distribution regulate communication between all those involved, but also give rise to questions regarding data security. TÜViT is represented during the exhibition in Hall 13 in the Smart Grids Forum.
Job and Career Market - Halle 6
Theme: Recruiting future staff
TÜV NORD is again attending the large Job and Career Market in Hall 6. Through their work, members of the TÜV NORD workforce protect people, the environment and material assets against risks and hazards. TN Group is always on the lookout for talented and motivated new staff who can help guide clients safety into the future. TÜV NORD has also been selected several times as one of the TOP employers for engineers.
