Johannes Berg leads Representative Office in Brussels
Hanover: As from now, TÜV NORD Group will be represented in Brussels by Johannes Berg. TNG, which provides technical services all over the world, has maintained its own office at the very centre of Europe since 2008.
"In Brussels, we can contribute 140 years of experience and the very latest technical know-how during drafting of EU legislation and guidelines", explains Berg. "The decisions that are made here directly affect the lives of 450 million people in Europe."
TÜV NORD Group has a well-established role on the European stage - for example operating an Internet portal for energy-efficient vehicles on behalf of the EU Commission (www.cleanvehicle.eu). Towns and districts, public transport operators and all types of companies can use the portal to compare the environmental data of different types of vehicles. TÜV NORD plays an active role within Green eMotion, the EU initiative for promotion of electromobility, and also in the development of general technical rules and standards.
Berg: "TÜV NORD Group has become an important contact for Members of the European Parliament, members of the EU Commission and also for very many interest groups and associations. We intend to further intensify the dialogue that we have begun with the European institutions."
Johannes Berg, who is 26 years old, studied International Relations as well as Energy and Natural Resources Management in Dresden, Mexico, Kaliningrad and Amsterdam. He then went on to advise companies and those in the world of politics in the areas of energy and climate change. Berg is superseding Hans-Joachim Brandt, who has entered retirement.
