TÜV NORD at Hannover Messe Industry 2012: Efficient and secure energy supplies of tomorrow

Hanover: Sustainability, solutions for the cities of the future and energy security are the core services of TÜV NORD Group on show at Hannover Messe from 23 to 27 April.

TÜV NORD is helping to meet the challenges of power conversion, storage, distribution and network management in the energy systems of the future. At its main stand in Hall 27 (Stand G40), TÜV NORD Group will inform visitors about the current state of technology for smart grids, wind energy, power plants, supply networks and further renewable energies such as photovoltaics and biomass. The Group supports industrial companies to optimise their energy management systems, offering support and advice. In addition to finding out about certification of sustainability concepts, organisations can gather information about all the services needed for planning, testing and certification of energy generation plants.

China, the international partner of this year’s Hannover Messe, places particular emphasis on intelligent solutions for sustainability. TÜV NORD has been active in the Chinese market for twenty years now and is presenting the state of technology for safety inspection and certification in Hall 27, among other services for environmental technologies and management systems.

In China and also in Europe, development of electromobility is one of the primary areas of interest for automotive manufacturers and the automotive supply industry. TÜV NORD supports the aim of putting attractive and safe alternative-drive vehicles on the roads as soon as possible. With its own electric vehicles, test laboratory and solar charging station (eSTATION) TÜV NORD Group is working alongside its partners to achieve constantly-improving safety characteristics and improved range.

At the lead exhibition, MobiliTec (Hall 25, K22) specialists from TÜV NORD will be giving presentations, and will also have a stand featuring topics such as homologation, charging technology, certification and also education and training. On a test track under the supervision of TÜV NORD, visitors to the exhibition can also try out the performance of electric vehicles for themselves.

Mobility, energy security, noise protection, energy efficiency for buildings – for many years now, TÜV NORD Group has been working in areas where the future of metropolitan areas is decided. Every week, more than one million people move from the country to the town. The most remarkable growth is taking place in Asia, Africa and South America, in regions which today already exhibit relatively unfavourable ecological, social and economic infrastructures. Not only increasing urbanisation, also climate change and population growth mean that it is absolutely essential to design complex urban infrastructures more efficiently. At “Metropolitan Solutions”, TÜV NORD has bundled its know-how into three main areas: traffic infrastructure, water management and waste disposal and building infrastructure (Hall 26, Stand C11).

The experts from TÜV NORD subsidiary TÜViT are at hand when it comes to IT security in the fields of electromobility and energy networks. Smart grids for transfer and distribution of electric power are able to regulate communication between producers, distributors and consumers, but raise questions regarding data security. TÜViT is represented at the fair in the Smart Grids Forum in Hall 13.

TÜV NORD also has a strong presence at the large Job and Career Market in Hall 6. With the work that they do, those working for TÜV NORD help to protect people, the environment and material goods against risk. The Group is always looking for talented and motivated people who want to support clients on a safe path towards the future. TÜV NORD has received an award as one of Germany’s Top  Employers for engineers.
