Our self-image


The TÜV NORD Group, with its tradition spanning longer than 100 years, stands for experience and expertise in Germany and abroad. We are present worldwide with a wide range of high-quality and forward-looking services. We work neutrally and independently to the benefit of our clients and the community.

Contributing to developments, the TÜV NORD Group helps assure the quality, safety and reliability of new technologies too. Through our work, we protect people, the environment, and property from the risks associated with the production, installation and operation of technical systems and plants. The TÜV NORD Group is aware of its social responsibilities and is therefore especially committed to working toward the common good. The entire staff, that is the board of directors, managing directors, managers, and employees, therefore focus their comprehensive corporate thinking and actions on our core values: neutrality, independence, and integrity. Each and every individual is responsible for applying these core values and
thus, use their skills and commitment to contribute to the success of the TÜV NORD Group.

Our values and personal principles


Making decisions and carrying out actions in the TÜV NORD Group always refers to the decisions and actions of people, whether it's management or other staff. Even though the principles of our corporate achievements always shape the basis upon which we operate, everyone must be aware that it is their personal actions that are being evaluated. In this case, the following four corporate core values apply: trust, respect, concern, and cordiality. They are the binding principles behind our personal conduct at the TÜV NORD Group.

Trust

The course of actions of individuals must always be aimed at strengthening the trust in their decisions and actions.

Respect

Everyone is to be make decisions and carry out actions so that all parties involved are never only the means, but are always the goal of the actions. The respect of each and every person - whether it concerns employees or customers, internal or external partners, or someone else affected by our actions - must always be observed.

Concern

Above all, no one who makes decisions or acts in the name of the TÜV Group is to force someone to act against his responsible ethical and/or moral conscience.

Cordiality

The corporate decisions and actions of each individual from the TÜV NORD Group are always to be in line with our corporate goals and socially-acceptable understanding.

Our corporate principles


Based on our value system, we declare the following principles as binding for the TÜV NORD Group:

  • We take into consideration the requirements and demands of our stakeholders
    The TÜV NORD Group strives to improve the success of its customers. In doing so, we conduct business activities according to the law, which are fair and demonstrate the highest possible integrity.
  • We are committed to sustainably preserving our company
    We make decisions and carry out actions in a performance-driven manner in order to ensure our company's long-term survival.
  • We maintain and expand our expertise
    The technical specialist competence of our employees is an important basis for our company's success. We therefore focus our personal and corporate decisions and the resulting actions on maintaining and expanding our expertise.
  • We demand and promote independent, individually responsible actions
    We establish and embody a corporate culture at all levels, which enables every employee, as well as our internal and external partners to carry out independent and individually responsible actions. We support the performance and productive capacity or our employees.
  • We expect people to indentify with the TÜV NORD Group
    We will do everything that is required to help all employees of the TÜV NORD Group identify with the company.
  • We increase the level of trust placed in our company
    We support the cooperation with our external and internal partners in order to increase and promote the level of trust placed in our in corporate decision-making processes and actions, which are focused on the economic, social, ecological, and social demands. In case of competiting interests, we balance the effects for each and every employee.
  • We are committed to transparency, communication, and cooperation
    We make decisions and carry out actions so that our employees, customers, suppliers, and the public can understand and obtain information on our decisions. To accomplish this, we have established and maintain transparent structures.
  • We prohibit discrimination and racism
    We use the international orientation of the TÜV NORD Group to place particular emphasis on the respect and appreciation of different culture, races, and experiences. Our employees have a right to be treated equally and to work in an atmosphere that is free of discrimination and/or racism. We achieve this by respecting the rights of others.
  • Maintaining our value system
    Each individual in the TÜV NORD Group is to understand that the TÜV NORD Group is a coherent global network, which acts with integrity and is committed to honour its values. Therefore, it is up to the collective responsibility of all employees to observe the value system and the corporate guidelines at all times and to ensure their implementation.
  • We support compatibility between work and family
    We are consolidating and optimising the existing family-friendly structures within the human resources policy of TÜV NORD Group. As an employer with a focus on the future, we offer a wide range of opportunities which enable our staff both to fulfil their family responsibilities and to realise their professional potential.
