Sampling
Dynamic odour smapling using gas-jet pumps
Summary:
The thirty minute, condensation-free sampling of emissions rich in water vapour have up until now caused major difficulties for olfactometry, since there was no equipment that was proven in practice to manage this task. The condensation-free sampling can now be carried out using miniaturised nitrogen-powered gas-jet pumps.
Practical experience shows that the preset dilution system is easier to use and has fewer errors than the static pre-dilution process that is primarily used now. This allows stable pre-dilution processes to achieve long sample time measurements. In addition, it appears useful to determine the pre-dilution process by controlling the oxygen content in the sample gas and the sample. As a result, errors are ruled out by how the pressure and temperature conditions influence the measurement points along with the contamination in the pre-dilution system.
