TÜV NORD certifies energy management system of Warsteiner
Essen: TÜV NORD has certified the energy management system of the Warsteiner brewery. The certification means that the company, which is based in the Sauerland region of Germany, is reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and also promotes efficient use of resources whilst lowering its own future costs. The certificate was presented at the Essen energy fair “E-world energy & water”.
The use of energy in the brewery in the Waldpark will also be continually improved based on the certification. “With the certified energy management system, Warsteiner brewery is expanding its sustainability concept and promoting its own efficiency in the use of resources. The reduction in greenhouse gas emissions also supports the current climate protection targets of the European Union and the Germany Federal Government”, confirmed Holger Hoffmann, manager of the environmental and climate protection area at TÜV NORD CERT, presenting the certificate to Peter Himmelsbach, Technical Director of Warsteiner Group.
Himmelsbach also emphasised the advantages of certification: “The energy management system we have installed helps us protect the environment and means we can operate more sustainably and lower costs through reduced use of energy and raw materials.”
