Certified bio natural gas: TÜV NORD certifies energy supplier Enovos
Luxembourg: TÜV NORD has certified the bio natural gas products from Enovos Luxembourg S.A., one of the largest suppliers of natural gas and electricity in Luxembourg. The certification demonstrates that Enovos is committed to renewable energy sources. The certificate itself was presented at the Spring Fair in Luxembourg.
As Holger Hoffmann, who heads environmental and climate protection services at TÜV NORD CERT, said during the award event: “Renewable energies are becoming more important in the energy, heat and fuel markets. With certification of its bio natural gas products, Enovos demonstrates that it is committed to sustainable development of energy supply and that it is sparing in its use of fossil fuel resources.”
During the certification process, TÜV NORD verified the proportion of biomethane contained in the various Enovos natural gas products. Customers can choose between shares of 10%, 30% or 100% bio natural gas. The benefits offered by production and distribution of bio natural gas include reduction of the CO2 that is produced during combustion, and also the possibilities of varied use via the existing natural gas networks. In addition, bio natural gas from local plants can be used on a local basis.
“Our customers can decide on their energy mix themselves and can make a contribution to environmental protection. Certification by TÜV NORD offers the certainty that our bio natural gas products contain the stated proportions of biomethane”, explains Saskia Marx, from Product/Project Development & Management at Enovos Luxembourg.
