Functional safety
Testing of electrical and electronic systems
Since IEC 61508 applies, product classification of safety-relevant systems and their safety functions is required, and they must be classified according to a Safety Integrity Levels (SIL).
The standard relates to all electrical, electronic and programmable electronic systems which implement safety functions, and it takes all of the activities that occur during the entire safety life cycle into consideration.
Our services:
- Support during the introduction of IEC 61508-compliant Functional Safety Management (FSM), taking existing QM systems such as ISO 9001 into consideration
- Help in optimising development processes
- Support in creating a safety plan
- Help in creating the Safety Requirement Specification
- Participation and support in a detailed system analysis
Certification of compliance with standards
- Functional safety certificates as per
- IEC 61508 (DIN EN 61508, VDE 0803), IEC 61511, IEC 62061:Safety Integrity Level - SIL
- ISO 13849-1: Performance Level (EN 954-1)
- Testing (in support of permit) of safety and functional certificates for railway technology, especially as per EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, EN 50129-1, EN 50129-2, EN 50155
- Other sector-specific standards such as IEC 61800-5-2, EN 60947-5-3
- Certification of compliance with standards
Analysis and system inspection
- Performing danger and risk analyses with determining the required Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) or performance levels
- Testing of safety concepts
- Safety, reliability and availability analyses
- Fault tree analyses and fault effect analyses
- Safety analyses and safety conceptions, calculation of the residual error probability of safety loops
