Winning over environmentally-aware consumers
Everyone can do something to stem the tide of climate change. More and more consumers are becoming aware of this - which in turn has a major effect on their behaviour. Many feel that they can demonstrate their commitment to climate protection by purchasing carbon neutral products - and manufacturers who have undergone corresponding certification by TÜV NORD can point the way in this respect, whilst winning new customers.
The TÜV test mark - an important signal
"Climate neutral product" certification according to the TÜV NORD standard is directed towards all companies whose products are so-called "zero carbon" and who want to communicate this fact. The test mark granted for use as a result of successful certification rapidly draws the attention of consumers to the products and identifies the manufacturing company as a responsible organisation whose business is based on sustainability.
Utilising savings potentials
The prerequisite for certification is creation of a carbon footprint of the product in question. Valid CO2 certificates from climate protection projects should also be available in order to compensate for the CO2 emissions which have been calculated. Both the calculation of the emissions and the purchase and withdrawal from the market of the corresponding emission credits are reviewed in the course of the certification. Working together with the experienced experts from TÜV NORD CERT can also identify savings potentials within the value added chain, resulting in economic benefits for manufacturers. TÜV NORD CERT has comprehensive knowledge and experience in the area of climate protection both at home and abroad, is accredited by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to validate, verify and certify international climate protection projects, and has to date performed these services in around 2,000 cases.
