The universal standard

Standard DIN EN ISO 22000, which has worldwide validity, was developed by international food experts for companies of all sizes in the food industry. Its scope covers food supply chains as well as companies operating upstream and downstream of them.

  • food producers
  • animal feed producers
  • primary production
  • transport, storage
  • wholesale and retail trade
  • packaging materials, cleaning materials and additives industry
  • pest controllers

ISO 22000 is based on ISO 9001 and supplements the latter with respect to HACCP and related requirements. It allows for greater flexibility than the standards of the trade associations. However, the standard is not recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). You should therefore also consult the section on FSSC 22000, or call us using the contact data shown above right to enable us to define the correct standard for your company.
