Inno-Snippet No. 86

FUJIFILM’s first surveillance camera to read a license plate from 1km away

Existing long range surveillance cameras have problems with lowered image quality caused by heat hazes, fog or wind vibrations when installed in high places. Additionally, there are delays when adjusting the focus to distant subjects. To solve these issues, FUJIFILM has just introduced the SX800 camera. The long range surveillance camera can read a number plate from a 1km distance or recognize details on a building from a 3km distance. The camera supports ISO levels of up to 819200 for filming at night. The FUJIFILM camera SX800 could be useful for international borders, forest areas or public facilities such as airports, ports or motorways.
