3D printing entire rockets

Relativity Space is an LA-based company that combines 3D printing and artificial intelligence to print entire rockets. For this purpose, they designed, Stargate, which is probably the world’s largest 3D printer. It is 9 meter tall and it can print an engine for a medium-sized rocket consisting only of three parts instead of many parts welded together along with many man-hours of labour.

With this technology, Relativity Space develops a rocket called Terran-1 and plans to finish it in 2020. According to Relativity Space, the rocket will fly to low earth orbit, consist of only 1000 parts and have a load capacity of 1250 kg.
