World’s first commercial electric airplane
Harbour Air (Vancouver, Canada) is the first airline who started regular operation with an all-electric commercial aircraft. Harbour Air worked with magniX, an electric aviation technology company, to equip a six-passenger aircraft (Model: DHC-2 Beaver) with a 560 kW electric propulsion system. The first flight took place on the Fraser River in Richmond (Canada) in December 2019. Both companies see this event as the start of the third era in aviation – the electric age. All sectors are in charge of lowering carbon dioxide emissions. Harbour Air is the first airline to set up an all-electric aircraft to enable flying without emissions.
