Change of management: Cluster AMERICAS and ASIA

The AMERICAS

On August 1, 2018, Hakan Sen took over the management of TÜV USA. Based in Salem/New Hampshire the company focuses on the certification of management systems. In his new function, Hakan Sen will also head the AMERICAS cluster in the Operating Business Segments (OBS) System Certification and Food & Agriculture.

Hakan Sen began his career at TÜV NORD GROUP in international certification with TÜV NORD CERT in Essen in 2005. From 2011 to 2016, the graduate industrial engineer was Head of Certification Services and, most recently, Deputy Head of Services. Hakan Sen succeeds Ralf Thomsen, who returns to Germany after three years to continue his career at TÜV NORD CERT. He is now responsible for the development of the global market for Medical Devices International in the Business Development Cluster, Southeastern Europe region. He will also become deputy head of the Business Development cluster.

"I am really looking forward to the upcoming tasks in the AMERICAS cluster. Ralf Thomsen has built up a great team over the past three years and put the company on course for growth. The AMERICAS cluster offers us great opportunities in the existing segments and in the digitalized future. We will approach this with a lot of courage and big steps", says Hakan Sen.

ASIA

There was also a change at the head of the Asia cluster: Robert Napitupulu took over the cluster on September 1, 2018. Napitupulu joined TÜV NORD in 2002. As managing director, he was involved in the development of TÜV NORD Indonesia from the very beginning. Starting with just three employees, the company now employs 158 people. Until 2007 Robert Napitupulu also worked as an auditor for QS-9000, ISO/TS-16949 and ISO-9001. Then his work as managing director no longer allowed him to leave the office so often. In 2008, he and his team built their own food laboratory, which has been very successful so far. In 2016 Napitupulu was elected "Manager of the Year" of BU IS. The previous cluster head V.S. Reddy takes over the management of OBS Food. He succeeds Kaustubh Korde, who left the company at the end of June.
