1100 Zeichen The UN ECE Regulation 155 will become mandatory as part of the European type approval for vehicle types. According to the General Safety Regulation, it will be binding as part of the European type approval for new vehicle types from July, 6th 2022 and for the registration of new vehicles (with existing vehicle type approval) from July, 7th 2024.
As designated technical service, we are your professional partner within the introduction and operation of the R155. We can facilitate the type approval - it consists of the following inspections:
- Assessment of the manufacturers Cyber Security Management System (CSMS)
- Based on our assessment report, the type approval authority can issue the Certification of Compliance for the CSMS
- Inspection of the E/E architecture for application of cyber security compliant to regulation requirements
- Based on our inspection report, a System Type Approval for the E/E Architecture can be issued by the type approval authority
- Inspection of the Vehicle Type approval
- Based on our inspection report, a Type Approval for the Vehicle can be issued by the type approval authority

1100 Zeichen With the development of the ISO/SAE 21434 an international industry standard will be established for automotive cybersecurity engineering.
You have a list of norms to fulfill - and with an independent assessment of TÜV NORD Mobility product development your standards can be evidenced. Our teams are in regular contact with those at the forefront of development and research. We evaluate and test within the assessment requirements for cybersecurity risk management on the highest process and product levels.
This includes the engineering for concept, development, production, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning for
- road vehicle electrical systems, including their components and interfaces
- road vehicle eletronic (E/E) systems, including their components and interfaces

1100 Zeichen TÜV NORD Qualification Programme. The introduction of new standards and regulations is associated with complex challenges and activities for the development of processes and measures.
Within the 3-day training qualification course "Certified Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer" participants receive a detailed and practice-orientated training course for cyber security aspects. The trainers will teach theory and practice for:
- Cyber security fundamentals and automotive specific requirements
- Type approval requirements of the UN ECE R155, fundamentals of ISO/SAE DIS 21434 and application within automotive projects
- Gap analyses and pre-audits to identify improvements to implemented processes and products
- Practice-oriented induction to improve know-how, insight and understanding of requirements from standards and regulations
As a participant, you will receive a "confirmation letter of participation" and can perform a 90 minute examination to obtain the TÜV NORD Certificate "Certified Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer".
