Car dealership and workshop
At a time when vehicles are increasingly equipped with complex technologies, the precise calibration of measuring devices is crucial to ensure safety and reliability. Our professional calibration services ensure that your customers work with optimally adjusted systems.

The accredited calibration laboratory of TÜV NORD Mobilität offers DAkkS-compliant calibrations for measuring devices in the automotive industry:
Thanks to accreditation by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS), we are able to carry out calibrations for AU particle counters and reference counters for the calibration of particle counters independently of manufacturers and accredited.
Our calibration laboratory is accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17025. This accreditation confirms our expertise in carrying out DAkkS calibrations and guarantees the highest quality standards.
To ensure consistently high precision, our procedures and work processes are subject to strict internal quality assurance measures and regular inspections by the DAkkS.
We use an innovative, semi-automatic, laser-based 3D measurement system for the accredited calibration of headlamp alignment systems (SEPS). This process enables fast and precise measurement in accordance with current requirements, which include more than three times as many measuring points as before. This significantly reduces downtime compared to conventional measurement methods.
We work closely with inspection and testing organisations to ensure that your test equipment is calibrated in accordance with the law. Our accredited procedures guarantee maximum measurement accuracy and reliable results.
At TÜV NORD Mobilität, we offer you customised calibration services that ensure the efficiency and safety of your workshop equipment. Our experts ensure that your equipment always meets the highest standards. Discover our key services:

Let us calibrate your measuring instruments to ensure precise and reliable measurements in your workshop.
We offer accredited calibrations for the following devices:
Tape measures (up to 100 m)
Scales (up to 5 m)
folding rules/inch rules
Calipers (up to 500 mm)
Test gauges for HU/SP (up to 200 mm)
Ball gauges for trailer coupling measurements
Requirements for length measuring equipment:
Length measuring equipment such as tape measures and folding rules are categorised into accuracy classes in accordance with EU Directive 2014/32/EU. The conformity assessment checks whether the requirements of the accuracy class are met.
Calibration interval for length measuring equipment:
Calibration intervals vary depending on the measuring equipment. We recommend calibration at least every 36 months and support you in determining the intervals.
Calibration of length measuring equipment:
Tape measures must have a confirmation of conformity or initial calibration for the HU area.
Use of non-calibrated length measuring equipment:
Non-calibrated length measuring equipment is not permitted for the HU.

Whether analogue or digital clamping force measuring devices or foot force measuring devices - our calibration services guarantee you the highest accuracy and safety in force measurement.
We offer accredited calibrations for the following devices
Analogue and digital closing force measuring devices (up to 1000 N)
Foot force gauges (up to 1000 N)
Requirements for closing and foot force gauges:
The devices must be calibrated by an accredited calibration laboratory before being used for main inspections or safety tests. Recommended accuracy: 3 % of the nominal value for closing force measuring devices and ± 10 N for foot force measuring devices.
Calibration interval for force gauges:
Calibration intervals vary depending on the device. We recommend calibration at least every 24 months and will support you in determining the intervals.
Calibration of force gauges:
Additional calibration is not required.
Use of non-calibrated force measuring devices:
Non-calibrated devices are not permitted for main inspections and safety tests.

By definition, calibration is a measuring process for determining and documenting the deviation of a measuring device from the standard or reference without intervention that changes the measuring device.
This serves to determine the suitability of a measuring device for a specified area of application.
All measuring devices that have a direct influence on the test decision during the periodic technical inspection (HU/AU) must be calibrated by an accredited provider.
In some cases, additional requirements apply, such as routine testing, calibration, etc. Further information on this can be found on our subpages on the calibration of exhaust emission testers, brake testers (BPS) and headlight alignment systems (SEPS).
To ensure that all testing and measuring equipment functions properly during every exhaust emission and main inspection, it is necessary to calibrate it not just once, but regularly.
The legally prescribed intervals at which recalibration must be carried out as a minimum vary.
TÜV NORD Mobilität will be happy to support you in monitoring your devices so that you always have valid test and measurement equipment for your exhaust emission and main inspections.
Roller brake testers: DAkkS calibration, verification of calibration capability (formerly routine testing), adjustment (manufacturer-dependent)
Headlamp alignment test systems: DAkkS calibration, routine testing (manufacturer-dependent)
Petrol emission testers (four-gas tester): DAkkS calibration, maintenance (manufacturer-dependent)
AU devices for diesel fuel (opacimeter): DAkkS calibration, maintenance (manufacturer-dependent)
AU particle number measuring devices
Test gauges: Factory calibration, testing
Calipers: Factory calibration, testing
Foot force and closing force gauges: factory calibration, testing
Torque spanner: factory calibration, testing
Speed limit tester: Factory calibration, testing
Lifting platforms: Maintenance, UVV inspection
Pit jacks/platform jacks: Maintenance, UVV inspection
This depends on the type of test/calibration and the current order situation.
In general, however, our lead times are less than four weeks.
You are also welcome to commission us for calibrations at an early stage.
TÜV NORD stands for reliable services of the highest quality
Depending on the customer's requirements, we can take care of monitoring all/most of the testing and measuring equipment. We remind our customers of upcoming tests
One appointment can be used for several tests, resulting in less "downtime"
TÜV NORD's wide range of tasks can quickly create synergies with technical vehicle monitoring
We offer you the option of automatically scheduling your next calibration appointment for you.
Yes, all testing and measuring equipment calibrated by us is accredited (DAkkS-compliant) and can be used by all monitoring organisations.
Note: TÜV NORD uses a semi-automatic, laser-based 3D measurement system developed with a partner for the accredited calibration of headlamp alignment test systems (SEPS). The updated requirements for SEPS measurements with more than three times as many measuring points are carried out quickly and promise significantly reduced downtimes compared to the standard market measuring method.
