Independent confirmation of the product specification

To reduce the risk of electric shock to people and animals, the Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC requires electrical equipment and enclosures to be adequately protected against the ingress of dust and moisture, which can cause malfunctions. However, testing this protection requires complex test equipment, which is expensive to purchase. An alternative is testing at TÜV NORD CERT.

Reliable and reproducible determination

TÜV NORD CERT offers manufacturers and operators of motors, drives, control systems, control cabinet enclosures and switchgear enclosures a test in accordance with the EN 60529 standard, enabling the determination of the environmental conditions under which a device can be operated safely to be carried out reliably and reproducibly. For the test, a sample is used to verify the degrees of protection specified by the manufacturer according to the IP code (from IP X1 to IP X8 and from IP 1X to IP 6X).

Neutral test report creates security

In the final test report, TÜV NORD CERT confirms that the product information is correct and that the requirements of the EN 60529 standard are met; manufacturers can use this to substantiate their product specifications. If required, a test certificate can also be issued.
