Allergens, germs and dust can trigger health complaints. Consumer awareness is therefore strongly influenced by the constant increase in allergies and influences their purchasing decisions for products that play a role in a healthy indoor environment. TÜV NORD tests and certifies materials and appliances with regard to their indoor air hygiene and suitability for allergy sufferers.
Tested products that meet our strict requirements can use our test mark to document their high indoor air hygiene standards under defined conditions.
Our expertise guarantees the acceptance of the labelled product by the consumer. Our tests are based on the recognised rules of technology and the relevant medical-allergological procedures and assessment criteria.
Our test centre for indoor air hygiene tests both appliances and materials of all kinds. For household appliances such as hoovers or room air purifiers, the focus is on performance characteristics such as the retention of allergens, germs and dust.We test bedding, such as mattress covers, in particular for the retention of moulds and mites, while the allergenic potential of building and decorative materials for indoor use (e.g. plaster, wallpaper, wall paints or carpets) is determined, among other things. We carry out all allergological tests not only on the end product, but also on all individual substances used.
