Mandatory and yet not always easy to apply - the EU directives only specify basic safety requirements. We promote our customers' position in the market by helping them to implement EU directives and apply suitable standards and regulations. We carry out analyses, tests and certifications in our DIN laboratory and the PÜZ test center. We are a recognized EMPA test centre according to LRV and VKF. The Pressure Equipment Directive covers the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure equipment with a pressure of more than 0.5 bar. This includes pressure vessels, steam boilers and pipelines, as well as pressure-retaining equipment (e.g. valves) and equipment with a safety function (e.g. safety valves) and the assembly of pressure equipment into modules. Pressure equipment is used in many areas, both in the processing industry, in small and medium-sized companies and in large-scale industry such as refineries, chemical plants and power stations.
Before pressure equipment can be placed on the market in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive, a design review of the construction is required. As part of the design phase, we support manufacturers in complying with the legal provisions and safety requirements. Manufacturers receive a neutral and independent test statement from the notified body.
As the directive only specifies basic safety requirements, it is necessary to apply suitable standards and regulations. One example is DIN EN 13445 for unfired pressure vessels. The presumption of conformity applies to this "harmonized" standard - the safety requirements specified in the EU directive are therefore considered to be fulfilled. Other regulations (e.g. AD 2000) can also be applied if the basic safety requirements are met. We support you in the selection of suitable regulations.
