According to the German Social Code, outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation facilities as well as inpatient care facilities must provide evidence of a quality management system. The requirements stipulate that the QM system must be recognised by the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft für Rehabilitation e.V. (BAR). The QM procedure System QM from the standard provider System QM e.V. fulfils these requirements in full, meaning that certification in accordance with this system is recommended for rehabilitation facilities.
In fact, many organisations have already implemented a management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001. System QM is based on ISO 9001 and is compatible with the internationally recognised standard for quality management systems. This means that a QM system in accordance with ISO 9001 can be expanded or specified in order to fulfil the SFA guidelines. However, a QM system can also be audited independently of an existing quality management system.
Flexible and compatible
System QM certification from TÜV NORD CERT now offers an upgrade with the option of integrating the SFA requirements into an existing QM system. System QM itself is based on the ISO standard, which also leads to far-reaching synergies. The ISO 9001 certificate is included in the System QM certification, and the System QM certification confirms through a second certificate that the requirements of the agreement on internal quality management in accordance with § 20 Para. 2a SGB are fulfilled.
System QM is suitable for all inpatient rehabilitation facilities, but differs in the second certificate, which is available in the following three variants.
To be eligible for certification, the facility must already have established a quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
System QM is aimed at outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation facilities as well as inpatient care facilities that must provide evidence of a recognised quality management system in accordance with the German Social Code. These facilities benefit from certification in accordance with the QM system, which fully fulfils the requirements of the Federal Association for Rehabilitation (BAR) and is compatible with ISO 9001.
Further information on System QM can be found in the Description of the System QM certification procedure.
