Battery electric vehicles are powered exclusively by electric motors. The energy required is stored in a traction battery, which, depending on the vehicle model, can be charged externally using either alternating or direct current.

• Individual approval procedures for converted vehicles: We test vehicles in accordance with VdTÜV MB 764 to ensure they meet legal requirements.
• Electrical safety checks: We ensure that all electrical systems meet safety standards.

• Determination of motor performance: We measure the performance of the electric motors to confirm their capability.

Hydrogen is a versatile energy source that can be used in vehicles in both internal combustion engines and fuel cells. Fuel cell vehicles require complex energy storage systems, as they utilise both a high-voltage battery and a pressurised or liquid hydrogen (H2) storage system. In addition to electrical safety, comprehensive regulatory requirements must also be met, covering both the hydrogen system as a standalone unit and when installed in the vehicle.

To ensure that hydrogen components, systems and hydrogen-powered vehicles can be operated safely on public roads, independent testing and assessment is essential.

As an experienced technical service provider, we offer the following services:

• Individual approval procedures for converted vehicles: We test vehicles in accordance with VdTÜV MB 766 to ensure they meet legal requirements.
• Type approval for small and large series: We carry out tests as part of a single-stage or multi-stage type approval process to ensure the conformity of series-production vehicles.
• Testing and homologation of hydrogen components and systems: Our services include testing in accordance with ECE Regulation No. 134 and Regulation (EU) 2021/535 to ensure the safety and reliability of H2-carrying components.

E-fuels, also known as synthetic fuels, are a promising solution for reducing CO₂ emissions in the transport sector. These fuels are produced from renewable energy sources and can be used in internal combustion engines, making them particularly attractive for existing vehicles.

We offer a comprehensive range of services to assess the impact of synthetic fuels on the operating behaviour of internal combustion engines:

• Fuel consumption and emissions measurements: In our accredited test laboratory, we carry out detailed tests to analyse the fuel consumption and emissions of e-fuels.
• Real-world emissions testing: Using PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement System) measurements, we investigate actual emissions in road traffic.
• Blending analysis: We analyse the effects of blending e-fuels with conventional fuels.

In addition, we offer RFNBO certification to verify the production of electricity-based fuels and confirm their sustainability.
