With the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation, the EU obliges all aircraft operators to gradually increase the proportion of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). The aim is to reduce the climate impact of air travel and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
For airlines, charter and cargo operators, this means that they must submit an annual ReFuelEU Aviation Report - including proof of fuel quantities and SAF shares. Verification by an independent verification body such as TÜV NORD is required for this.
ReFuelEU Aviation Verification is suitable for aircraft operators that operate more than 500 commercial passenger flights or more than 52 commercial cargo flights from EU airports in a calendar year. This applies to both large airlines and smaller providers of charter or cargo flights.
