This verification is aimed at companies, municipalities, authorities, or associations that actively address climate change and its consequences, work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and wish to externally document this sense of responsibility.

This verification is aimed at gas suppliers who wish to make a voluntary financial contribution to climate change mitigation for their fossil fuels and differentiate their product in the marketplace.

TÜV NORD CERT carries out the verification based on the aforementioned standard. A prerequisite is the preparation of a carbon footprint and voluntary financial support for climate protection projects in accordance with the requirements of standard TN-CC 020. A successful verification is confirmed by a certificate and a conformity mark.
As an independent testing centre, we are not permitted by law to verify our own performance. The calculation in the run-up to verification must be carried out by the customer or by a consultancy firm commissioned by the customer.

A CO₂ certificate is a tradable instrument that grants companies the right to emit a specific amount of CO₂ or CO₂ equivalents. It plays a central role in climate protection strategies aimed at limiting and reducing emissions. In addition to mandatory systems, there are also voluntary markets where companies can purchase certificates to emphasize their commitment.
After successful verification, you will receive our TÜV NORD certificate and the corresponding test mark. The certificate is usually valid for 12 months.
Voluntary financial climate contribution is provided through the purchase of CO₂ certificates in accordance with our in-house standard TN-CC 020.
