Raw materials industry – the basis for progress and development

The raw materials industry is at the heart of many global challenges, including rising demand for resources, geopolitical uncertainty, climate change and growing expectations for greater transparency throughout the supply chain. Raw materials are often criticized, particularly when their extraction or trade is associated with humanitarian or ecological consequences. Therefore, companies must ensure not only security of supply, but also demonstrate that their processes are sustainable and responsible.

Certification systems can help here by distinguishing between problematic and unproblematic sources of raw materials, providing consumers and business partners with a reliable basis for decision-making. At the same time, digitalization, new recycling processes and international standards are becoming increasingly important in strengthening trust in markets and supply chains. TÜV NORD CERT supports the raw materials industry in this transformation, helping them to navigate everything from sustainability to cybersecurity.

Baseline Reports and Soil Analyses
In order to ensure the prevention of significant pollution of soil and groundwater, a baseline report, continuous monitoring and the obligation to return to the baseline might be necessary.
Certification of data centers according to TSI, EN 50600, or ISO/IEC 22237
Certification of security requirements in accordance with IEC 62443-2-1 and -2-4
Certification of technical control centers according to TSA.STANDARD
Commissioning of data centers
Conformity assessment and GAP analysis of alarm receiving centers and technical control centers
Conformity assessment of data centers
Construction noise
As a certified measurement centre, TÜV NORD Umweltschutz offers acoustic forecasts and measurements of construction noise and supports you in the acoustic optimisation of your construction processes.
Design Assesment of data centers
EN 50518
EN 50600 (DC)
Emission measurements
In accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG), operators of plants requiring authorization are obligated to have the type and scope of emissions from their facilities regularly assessed by an accredited measuring body, as notified under Section 29b BImSchG. Our experts conduct these emission measurements for a wide range of individual substances.
Environmental Compatibility
For specific projects, it must be ensured that the effects on the environment are identified, described and assessed comprehensively at an early stage. The type of project and its size or output determine whether it falls under the review obligations of the Environmental Impact Assessment Act (EIA Act).
Functional testing and calibration of monitoring equipment
Regular functional testing and calibration are essential for the operation of automatic measuring systems (AMS) for emission monitoring. This ensures that the measuring equipment works precisely and that the measurement signals are correctly analysed and stored. This promotes both environmental protection and operational safety.
ISCC PLUS and REDcert2
ISO 22301 - Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)
ISO 27001 Certification
ISO/IEC 22237
Industrial noise
As an accredited measuring body, TÜV NORD Umweltschutz offers reliable noise measurements and noise forecasts on industrial plants. Trust our long-standing experience to reliably meet legal noise protection requirements.
KRITIS and the IT Security Act
Location assessment of data centers
Permit Management
The construction and operation or modification of a plant according to the Federal Immission Control Act requires a comprehensive permit management. Operators must go through complex application procedures and submit extensive application documents. Current legal framework conditions and the permit status must always be taken into account.
Planning evaluation of alarm receiving centers and technical control centers
Quality Gates & Construction guidance for Data Centers
Radiation Protection in Industry – Materials Testing, Quality Assurance and NDT
Industrial applications such as X-ray inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT) or quality assurance require strict compliance with the Radiation Protection Ordinance (StrlSchV). TÜV NORD carries out expert inspections of X-ray systems, radiation-emitting devices and radioactive sources – legally compliant, practice-oriented and tailored to the industry.
Supply chains & due diligence obligations
Since 2023, the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act has required organisations to protect human rights and environmental standards throughout their entire supply chain. Through risk management, preventive measures, and grievance mechanisms, violations can be identified and prevented at an early stage. Annual reporting ensures transparency
