From an information security management system to an AI management system: harnessing synergies with ISO/IEC 27001 & ISO/IEC 42001

The EU AI Act introduces stricter requirements for the secure and traceable use of artificial intelligence. Organisations must establish appropriate processes to assess risks, define responsibilities and demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.

Many organisations already have an information security management system in place in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001. The international standard ISO/IEC 42001 provides a framework for managing AI-related requirements in a structured manner.
