Clever, clever!

In future, professional drivers are expected to demonstrate additional skills. Compulsory further training is a result of European Directive 2003/59/EC, which is also implemented in Germany. TÜV NORD offers you the right courses.

You really need to know this

All professional drivers on the road have to undergo periodic further training every five years. This training programme consists of 35 compulsory lessons, each having a duration of 60 minutes.

The 35 compulsory lessons are divided according to individual topics, given in periods of at least 7 hours.

Participation in individual training sessions are documented in the form of a certificate issued for each training module. On completion of your further training measures, the code 95 is entered on your driving licence. Chin up: There is no final examination.

It's back to school every five years

And you have to participate every five years. In other words, bus drivers must inform themselves latest by 10 September 2013. Lorry drivers have until September 10, 2014.

Qualification at an earlier or later date is permissible if this date coincides with the expiry date of the driving licence. For bus drivers, the deadline is 10 September 2015 and the deadline for lorry drivers is 10 September 2016.
