Power quality at grid-infeed points is monitored for compliance with EN 50160 (or IEC/TS 62749).
Important metering data from the supply mains are recorded. These include voltages, currents, power factor and energy consumptions at all connected phases and at the neutral conductor. The metering points are defined by different granularity levels (GL) which are derived from the risk analysis.
GL 1: Characteristic values at the infeed points and at the output of the UPS are recorded. The voltage quality is monitored at the infeed points.
GL 2: Additional to GL1 characteristics, values between the primary and the last secondary distribution equipment are recorded.
GL 3: Additional to GL2 characteristics, values at the final circuits (e.g. racks) are recorded.
Requirements regarding the accuracy of the installed measuring devices have been removed.
