It is not possible to give a flat-rate figure for the cost of certification. The key factor in determining the price is always the effort we expend on the audit and the associated ancillary costs. Factors such as the size of the company, the number of employees, the complexity and risk of the processes, etc., are decisive here. These factors determine the audit effort and, ultimately, the price.
An established management system is a prerequisite for certification. ‘Established’ means that the requirements of the standard have already been put into practice. As an independent certification body, we then confirm this implementation by issuing you with a certificate.
A management system serves to ensure the structured, systematic and planned implementation of overarching policy and derived objectives within organisations. Management systems use rules, standards and responsibilities to coordinate business tasks – such as process control, quality assurance, documentation and communication – in a targeted manner. In doing so, opportunities and risks are assessed, processes are optimised, and lessons learnt are incorporated into a continuous cycle of improvement. Among the most widely used management systems are quality management systems (ISO 9001), environmental management systems (ISO 14001), occupational health and safety management systems (ISO 45001) and information security management systems (ISO 27001).
ISO is the name of the International Organisation for Standardisation. ISO is an international standardisation organisation that develops globally recognised standards. ISO certification, carried out by an independent and accredited certification body such as TÜV NORD CERT, provides evidence that the requirements for a management system in accordance with an ISO standard are being met. The audit may cover an entire organisation, a division of the organisation or even a single site.
A certificate is valid for three years. After these three years, the new certification cycle begins – with the (re-)certification audit. The aim of this is to obtain a new certificate, which is in turn valid for three years.
