Strengthen the trust in your products

In some cases, EC type examination according to Annex IX or full quality assurance according to Annex X of the Machinery Directive is a prerequisite for CE marking of machinery and safety components by the manufacturer. TÜV NORD CERT offers both these services for the following types of machinery and safety components from Annex IV of the Directive:

  • Sawing machinery with fixed blade(s) during cutting, having a fixed bed or support with manual feed of the workpiece or with a demountable power feed
  • Hand-fed surface planing machinery for woodworking
  • Thicknessers for one-side dressing having a built-in mechanical feed device, with manual loading and/or unloading for woodworking
  • Sawing machinery with fixed blade(s) during cutting, having a fixed or reciprocating-movement bed or support for the workpiece
  • Hand-fed vertical spindle moulding machinery for working with wood and material with similar physical characteristics
  • Presses for the cold working of metals, with manual loading and/or unloading, whose movable working parts may have a travel exceeding 6 mm and a speed exceeding 30 mm/s, such as press brakes (folding presses), eccentric, hydraulic and servo-powered presses
  • Injection or compression plastics-moulding machinery with manual loading or unloading
  • Injection or compression rubber-moulding machinery with manual loading or unloading
  • Manually loaded trucks for the collection of household refuse incorporating a compression mechanism
  • Vehicle servicing lifts (including for rail vehicles)
  • Devices for the lifting of persons or of persons and goods involving a hazard of falling from a vertical height of more than three metres; these include, for example, mobile and stationary lifting work platforms, mast climbing platforms, facade access systems, lifts in the sense of the Machinery Directive etc.
  • Protective devices designed to detect the presence of persons, such as light barriers, light grids, light curtains, laser scanners, pressure-sensitive strips, pressure-sensitive mats, infrared sensors and radar sensors
  • Power-operated interlocking movable guards
  • Logic units to ensure safety functions, such as evaluation and analysis devices, safety door position detectors, emergency-off relays, programmable controllers or hydraulic blocks

In addition, you can profit from our know-how as a notified body according to the Machinery Directive by undertaking voluntary type examinations. This provides you with the certainty that your machinery and safety components comply with the requirements of the Machinery Directive.
